STHE123O

Little Monster
Hi everyone! I decided to start a Sonic Heroes level pack for SRB2. Levels are not a port of the originals, only some parts are based on the original levels layout.

There is a total of 8 levels and 2 bosses. Zones are:
Seaside Palace
Power Metropolis
Casino Highway
Rail Station
Frog Jungle
Mystic Castle
Egg Fortress

*Each level is a combination of Act 1 and 2 from the original game. Example: Seaside Palace has elements from both Seaside Hill and Ocean Palace.

Help is welcome in:
- Music (Not anymore, thanks Zipper!)
- Sprites
- Coding?

A download is coming as soon as I finish all levels!

If you have any questions just let me know!

Well now, this is a neat surprise. The screenshots look rather pretty, and the upper/lower path thing you have going on in there is something I'd love to check out in-game, whenever that happens.

I'll just point out that if you're using a huge amount of FOFs for some aesthetic detail like the bar walls in this screenshot, you should consider making a custom middletexture instead. It's much more efficient, and often does the job better aesthecially, too, since you're not restricted by the lack of slopes.

As someone who spent way too much time on Sonic Heroes as a child, this excites me greatly. I can't wait to see what has done with the levels, now that their tropes are mixed together.

Sonic Heroes is literally my childhood. I can't wait to see what you create!

I hope you DO introduce some badniks which aren't default SRB2 badniks, though.

No plans at the moment since I am focusing on the levels, but I would love to! Problem is that I dont know a thing about coding enemies and such. Maybe replacing the default SRB2 enemies sprites but I am not sure...

I'm really curious on the way you handle Rail Station since SRB2 doesn't have... rails.

This aside, I'm pretty excited about playing this indeed, this looks very nice so far~

i see you took notice of my thread.

I know you've seen this before, but I don't mind if we work on the team codes together. I'm just nailing the movement and stuff, and as Tesco says: "Every little helps!"

Looking great so far! But I have never coded anything for SRB2... ever. Team Action would be AMAZING since I am making paths for Speed, Fly and Power. But the single player experience right now (no teams) is good too because each character has its own paths.

However, changing characters in mid-level is something I always loved in SRB2, so we will see...

Update: Frog Jungle screenshot, progress is good so far. Cant wait to start with Mystic Castle!

Your sense of level design and architecture is absolutely brilliant! This looks incredible; I have absolutely no complaints.

Good phrase, but dont worry, I am not rushing it. I take my time with it!. Also progress on Mystic Castle is pretty good so far. I think I will release the WAD when all levels are done, so I can get suggestions and opinions from everyone, before adding unlockables, emblems or team codes. I want to make this level pack my best WAD yet, and most importantly, I want it to be a fun experience!

Still looks amazing so far!

Question though, what did you plan for the musics? Do they like change in the middle of the level or did you find something to make them mix together like Sonic Generations Seaside Hill modern?
In any way, keep it up, pretty damn excited to play a new level pack!

First of all, thank you! And yes, at first I wanted the music to be a mix of both acts, but at the end I decided to only use 1 music per level. For example, Seaside Palace has Seaside Hill music, but Rail Station has Bullet Station Music. I use the music that fits the level the most.

Still thinking about it... I have the textures and some ideas though. Will probably design it in paper one of these days (like I did with the other levels).

A question: The lightning effect in thunder was removed from SRB2?
