a scar in time...
I thought that this was specific and far enough away from a general art thread that it might be all right to create a separate thread for this. Only original musical compositions here!

01. Title Theme - Morning's End

This is supposed to be the opening theme to an RPG. Piano was a live performance on my electric piano, while the rest was made on my synth! Then it was all edited together in FL Studio. Only 30 some tracks to go...>_>Let me know what you guys think!

Wow, that was pretty metal. Pun intended. Seriously though, that was pretty awesome.

I'm assuming you are either guitar or drums? Also, are you in a band, or solo act? Really curious after hearing that track.
I did all the guitars, bass, and keys in that track. My friend, Jacob, did the drums. We wrote the song together. I left one part repetitive cos my friend was going to do a guest solo, but he hasn't come through yet. I might just do one myself.

Jacob and I do a music project which we call Polybius. That song is one of ours. Otherwise, I do solo stuff, in which you can hear me drum terribly: https://soundcloud.com/shanestrife/over-drive

That wasn't terrible at all >_>
These are insanely awesome! I had no idea there was such a talented musician here on the mb...I heard your keyboard in the previous piece, but couldn't gauge your skill level for it based on that piece. How proficient are you at keyboard/piano? If you ever want to mess around or collab for fun, I would be more than willing to contribute a metal synth/classical piano part.

I usually play jazz/classical, but am branching out to all sorts of music recently, here's a random classic/jazz fusion performance:

Jazz Etude - Pastoral

I'm also in a band, here in Japan, called Walker from IOWA (this was my bandmates' idea, not mine >_>). We're kinda jazzy and pop rock. Unfortunately, I can only show pictures at the moment. We're currently working on a PV...so I might be able to post something here in a few weeks.

Thanks, man! I would just consider myself proficient in keys. I can get by, but guitar is more of my thing. I'd be down for a fun collab!

This is totally rad! Consider me subbed. ;)

That'd be cool. You should definitely post it if/when you can!

See the thing with this though is...judging by how you rate yourself on drums, I wouldn't be surprised if you could teach me a thing or twenty on keys >_>

Let's do it! How do you usually go about collabs? Do you have any random guitar tracks just sitting around? Or would you want to do something completely new?

Well, I appreciate the compliment, but I would consider you better than me. I'm left handed, so it's hard for me to play keys. I want to lead with my left hand, not my right, so I usually need to record polyrhythmic lines in layers.

I usually write something new with someone. This is the last collab I did with a pianist: http://mus.thewaitingroom.org/Snowflake.mp3

I normally work in MIDI, but in this case, the pianist (Michael Neal) recorded a piano track then I wrote the rest of the song around it.

As long as I know the tempo and key, I can be pretty flexible on it.

Here's a few piano classical sounding music i do in my free time

Made a new song, it's an orchestral boss battle theme! I still consider it a work in progress, but whatevs! Please give it a listen! Any comments and feedback are much appreciated! Another song for my pretend RPG...

Boss Battle - Rendezvous at the Cape

"She stood there, at the edge of boundless infinity, with a heart so heavy it shadowed even the sun. Through the night and fog she gazed at them, standing there, with crimson eyes."

Walker from IOWA - Replay

My band made a music video! Sorry for my derp on the synths...first time in a band for me, so I really have no idea what I'm doing. Also, this is not my normal genre of music...band members wanted it to be happy, summery, a bit classy, and with a feeling of "let's go drink beer". Anywho, the video is kind of derpy...I have no idea why the random red haired sweater girl is in it, but whatevs! The video was shot in Nagasaki City...it was kind of a bleak day, but that actually fits the mood of the song pretty well. It's about feeling stuck and lost, with no idea about how to move forward in life. The words speak about someone who has nothing, wandering the same streets, seeing the same sights, and shouting out for all the things in his life that he's lost.

He realizes that the important things - the things that will never change - are already with him. If he can move forward even one step at a time, that's enough. As long as he can smile where he stands now, he'll be all right.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

RenegadeZ - The Encounter

This is a track I made for a game called Renegadez, which is currently under development. It is supposed to capture the feel of the original Gunz the Duel game by Maiet, with updated graphics and gameplay. Since this is the first song for the game, we'll see if this ends up fitting the style and atmosphere of the game. Hopefully it does. If you guys have any comments, suggestions, or criticisms, it would make my day if you could let me know.

Hi, here's something i made thats an Orginal composition

https://soundcloud.com/mk-exe2/keep-on-going

I typically make Remixes and dancey sort of music. This piece is something i made recently, it may not be the best thing i made and my musical style is rather unique.

Also heres something i made awhile back, its a remix of an orginal song i made wayyy back in 2013 but it more experimentation to say the least.... It still counts as orginal cos i made it :P

MK, that was actually a pretty interesting original comp. You have quite a bit of skill with digital music. I'm still fairly new to it, other than orchestral type compositions...do you have any general tips for a digital comp noob?

Im not the best to ask since im terrible at telling advice but typically all DAWs [digital audio workstations] have all the tools you'll need as well as all the relevant FXs to make even a simple comp let alone a masterpiece in it.

but just know your DAW and you should be fine lol
