Finally, a portable Sonic game that isn't a Sonic Rush rehash.

Maybe it's just ADBlock but I don't see anything...

Remember me Sonic? I can knock you out of SUPER FORM BAHAWHA!

Now I just hope they leave the camera alone. I kinda see this level being played with the camera focusing on Eggman while he's outside the ring.

That's just part of it. Sonic Retro has the rest:http://www.sonicretro.org/2011/05/first-look-and-details-for-sonic-generations-3ds/

So apparently the 3DS version will feature Green Hill Zone, Casino Night Zone, and apparently(according to Nintendo Power)they want Metallic Madness from Sonic CD, Death Egg Zone from Sonic and Knuckles, Emerald Coast from Sonic Adventure, Dinosaur Jungle from Sonic and the Secret Rings, and Starlight Carnival from Sonic Colors.

Retro Sonic that Sonic is responsible for the news ? Hmm ...
I look forward to Emerald Coast of SA. One of the best Sonic level that I've played.

I wonder if they will properly use the 3D effects.

So, some dude from Sonic Retro named Trunks said he has a source that told him what all the levels the console version will have.

sonic 1 - ghz (derp)
sonic 2 - chemical plant
sonic 3 - sky sanctuary

sonic adventure - speed highway
sonic adventure 2 - city escape
sonic heroes - either seaside hill / bingo highway

sonic 06 - crisis city
sonic unleashed - unknown (source didn't remember)
sonic colors - planet wisp
Man, I sure hope this isn't real. Only 3 classic zones and 6 modern ones? And a level from Colors? What would they even do to make it any different than the actual game? Then again, there's always the chance this dude is wrong, and he better be. Then again, apparently this 'source' is getting all this from the backgrounds of the Sonic action figures, so who knows.

KILLIN' MACHINE

What I read on Sonic retro is that the 3DS's Version and the XboX(PS3) Version will have different levels chosen. So, 2 different versions of the same game, kinda cool!

They look nothing alike~!
Sega, you've ruined my childhood~!

=p

In all seriousness, I don't know what is up with those "spikes" on his arm.

That arm looks horribly, I hope they´ll change it. Also does anybody know if there will be some level from SATSR?

-Special Stages make a return, but not from any of the classic games. From the looks of it, the Special Stage chosen hails from Sonic Heroes, meaning Sonic will need to speed through orbs and mines in a race to catch the emerald.
Okay Sonic Team, now if you make the controls less horrible and boosting actually making sense (like holding down the button for maximum boost instead of tapping it), you'll be damn sure I'll buy the PC version.

I mean, did you EVER played Sonic Heroes' Special Stages? Cause that's one of the worst parts in the game, if not the worst, for the aforementioned reasons.

It might of been terrible back then, but you only have the engine to blame. If they were using the Shadow The Hedgehog engine, it would of been decent. Besides, the stage is trippy, and playing it with a 360/PS3 engine will certainly get everyone to love it.

Also, it has the best music in the entire game. Try listening to it on YouTube.

The extra life challenges had the best music; I'm not so sure about the actual emerald challenges.

Also, if they have the game control in 2D instead of 3D (ie: although you can control how fast you go, your forward movement is along a predetermined path and you are pretty much always moving forward - basically, it controls like Sonic 2's special stages), it wouldn't be half-bad.

This is the one I meant. I forgot that there's two songs.

One thing I'm curious about the game is how Classic Sonic will play on non-classic games, like the Dreamcast games. It sounds like Sonic 'grew up' in Sonic Adventure, and saw faster ways to cross a level. If that's the case, then we will definitely play a Sonic Unleashed level with slow platforming goodness.

It's too bad that the bosses will only be exclusive to the 3DS version. I'm not paying over two-hundred dollars for a potable game system.

Sonic Team put bosses only in the 3DS ? For my part, I would have done the opposite in terms of trade, as supersonic45 says, and I'd put on earlier PS3/Wii etc..

I know how great the special stage music is. In fact, it's one of my favorite tracks of the game, but you're right, it's the engine that apparently can't use proper control at high speed, like right after the big loop in the first level, or when boosting in a special stage.
