Here are my reflections on the winners:
Canyon Operation Zone: This was probably the most deserving level, but that just goes to show how pathetic the Single Player division was this contest. COZ was solidly built but also had some consistent and glaring flaws that in many other contests would have been its undoing. Dangerous Volcano might also have been worthy of the victory, but it was badly flawed in other ways, so I think the outcome made sense.
Diamond Blizzard Zone: Oh yeah, the clear winner. I don't think anyone would dispute that it deserved the victory. I'm not so sure about it being the best Match level ever made for this version, but only because I can't remember every single Match level made for this version off the top of my head. It's certainly up there.
Radiant Cavern Zone: I don't get all the hate for this level...the colormaps really didn't confuse me when I played through it. I'll agree that CTF was probably the worst gametype you could have used this visual gimmick in, but it was still the obvious standout as far as I'm concerned. I was worried it wouldn't take the title, but I guess my fears were unfounded.
Tidal Cave Zone: Like Single Player, this level deserved to win not because it was good, but because everything else was worse. I had high hopes for Iron Aquarium prior to the contest, but the layout was horrible and the colormap wasn't changed after everyone pointed out it was too dark (I told you to the colormap was good back when I first saw the screenshot, but I was dead wrong. Sorry.) Anyway, Tidal Cave was the only level that didn't have crippling flaws. It wasn't tremendously interesting, but it was pretty solid too, which is enough to make it the standout in this bad a crop of Race levels.
