My mouse isn't working properly when I'm online!

This is a hard problem to describe, but I'll try.

I've been having problems with my mouse today. When I go onto Mozilla Firefox, I can move my mouse around properly, but I can't click on things. It works again whenever I activate the window for another program, and switch back, but after a few web pages, it happens again.

WHAT THE HECK IS HAPPENING!?
 
Never mind, it works now. Boy, do I feel sheepish for having come crying to you guys over this little issue.
 
- Clean under your mouse buttons.
- If possible or available, use a fast, well defragmented 'swap' disk partition for Firefox cache instead of your system partition.
 
Firefox occasionally screws up like that. I've never been able to figure out what causes it, but it only happens once in a blue moon, and restarting Firefox solves the problem immediately.
 
It didn't get solved when I restarted. I actually think it was some kind of system glitch, because I also lost my ability to drag icons in Windows Explorer.
