Drifters Characters (2.0 versions released)

Senku, there is a relatively easy way to convert the palette in very little time.

1. Open a 1.09.4 wad.
2. Set the IWAD to the 1.09.4 version of srb2.srb.
3. Save all the wad's graphic lumps as bitmaps.
4. Set the IWAD to the 2.0 version of srb2.srb.
5. Individually replace every graphic lump with the corresponding bitmap.

XWE will automatically convert these bitmaps to SRB2 2.0's palette. Not so hard. Theoretically, you could convert every character you've made in a day, given that none of them have tricky-to-recreate SOCs in them.

Or you could do this.
  • Save a .pal containing the 2.0 palette to XWEs palette folder
Open the wad and click "Select Palette" then the name of your .pal
Replace each sprite and XWE will convert it.

I was given the .pal from one of the dev members, and I don't have it on this computer. I'll post it here when I can.

Open srb2.srb in XWE. Select the lump PLAYPAL. I can't remember exactly what you do now, but it should be in a menu at the top.

Thanks, but it doesn't actually work. When I load up a 1.09.4 wad, go to a graphics lump, pull down "Image", click "Select Palette", and grab the palette I made, it doesn't convert at all.

Well, how do I fix that?

Also, I don't think that's the issue, because (1) ALL of the palettes in my folder are saved as ".act", and (2) it does successfully show up in my "get palette" option...it's just that nothing happens when I select it.
