Parappa the rapper help

Okay so here's the thing yesterday I got a copy of Parappa the rapper for my PSP and so far I haven't been doing very good at it so do you guys have any tips to help me do better? By the way I'm on stage 2 on normal difficulty.
 
... Search for a walkthrough on the Internet or something...? Google? Something? I dunno.

Tried it and all the walkthroughs had was a list of the buttons you have to press and the order you have to press them in nothing really helpful for my situation.
