This used to be an bug that was in 2.0.4 and forgot to report. Anyways, here is how to do for easy recreation:
1.Pick an climbing character.
2.Climb on the very edge of the lava.
3.Try going up and it shouldn't hurt if done correctly.
That's because the player isn't really suubmerged far enough into the sector. This could be fixed by making the lavafall thicker by making the sector have rectangular ends instead of coming together at a singular point.
