I'll Begin, something to consider is giving the player a reason to go underthe trees, or in the nooks and crannies. A good one I can think of would be making the area visually interesting, so they want too look at whats inside. You can also put likea ring box or something rewarding, but I don't think the player will come back for that more than twice or so.
