Why People Won't join servers

In truth this is the most n00bey thing I've done...

Why do people not join servers?

I host servers everyday just about hoping someone will join, I have been up for an hour once, nada, no one joins, so what makes people avoid servers.

Because I have gone to join games, 1/8 or something hour later 1/8.

So whats goning on?[/u]
 
Remember that the default option is not advertising in the Master Server. If you don't turn that on nobody will know about the server unless you give people your IP (this one should be obvious, by the way).
 
Isn't there some kind of firewall involved with these problems? My servers never show up on the MS either,(even with the the default option off.)
 
Easy: try a private netgame. Tell to some friend your IP and then host by IP. If your friend can join, then it's a problem with SRB2 not being able to contact the master server. Otherwise, the problem is that SRB2 can't connect to Internet. Quite simple.
 
Well, I had one person join once but.... It just seems that people avoid some servers in genral... -_- And I have done list serv and checked the server's site, I'm there. I can see my server and my IP....
