Blue Spheres

Does anyone know how to make Blue Spheres act like rings?

I want to use them in a special stage. But when I collected them, Nothing happened.
 
You need to take the ring object, and change its sprites to those of the Blue Spheres. But, Y'know, save it as a new object, so it won't replace the real rings...
