Canyon CTF, 10/10
I love how the rocks are set up by the bases, and the quicksand, and even the tricky monitor in a death pit. It's sad how people can't see this maps sheer beauty

I repeat, for the love of God PLEASE tell me this is a joke... This map is a pure tragedy and I'm sure that everyone who isn't you agrees with me.

EDIT: Hell, it doesn't even deserve a 1, that's how bad it is.

I agree. If Eggmanfan wasn't banned from the MB, I'd love to see the look on his face.

Well this contest was not the best, but it is the first one using 2.0 with the changes with Single Player and (mostly) Multiplayer. But I guess these changes may not pass as an excuse though.

First post has been updated with results. If you want to see individual votes, you're going to have to download the Excel file, because there's just too many votes for me to go through and post every single one of them.

Titles have also been handed out.

Aw man, I was playing too much FFTA and forgot about multiplayer voting! ): At least I got my Single Player votes in though. A few things I will say about the multiplayer maps in general:

1.) Most of the Match maps were way too open. If you want rail rings in your level, you have to make it just a tad less open.

2.) Some Match/CTF levels were completely lacking in some of the most basic aspects in level designing, like no team starts, or not enough starts in general (30 Minute Zone, anyone?). I know everyone wanted to make levels for the new system, but we may need to get back to the basics here!

3.) Other Match/CTF levels had ammo grouped together in one place (Glaber's Icicle Warehouse also come to mind...). While weapon ring ammo may be a minor thing compared to the weapon ring cards, a whole bunch of explosion rings grouped together is just a tiny bit cheap because one person can grab all of those ammo rings and that wouldn't leave any for the other players for approximately 30 seconds. The official Match/CTF levels are good examples of how to place ammo rings, so take a look at those more carefully.

4.) The Race level turnout was even worse than Single Player, but another problem with them was that there are so many places where you can die and places where you find yourself stopping for a couple of seconds just to avoid a cheap death, which stops the flow of the game and just makes for a total nuisance to the player.

OK, I'm done. See you in the next contest!

My plan... My plan was a success... Mwahahahaha...

But yeah, the Circuit division was a lot closer than I thought it'd be. I'm actually kind of surprised my map got the just-over-5 average it got, after seeing all those 3s and stuff.

Those vote nullifiers come in handy. You'd be suprised how much your average can go up when your lowest vote gets cancelled.

Copy-pasted from the Excel spreadsheet for those who don't want to look there. Votes in parenthesis were dropped for being the lowest vote.

Eighteen zeros.

My friends, this is history in the making.

Yeah, I was actually considering adding a "Your map must have SOME redeeming value" rule to the contest to prevent something like this from happening again.

The Shining River had a flat 0 ages ago, but had nowhere NEAR that many votes.

Actually, Shining River was DQd anyway. This is the first REAL, non-DQ'd 0.

In terms of votes, this is probably the largest contest we've ever had. We had 47 people vote in the contest this time.

I can't help but feel that the arithmetic mean really buries a lot of the info... Frostbite Peak went all over the place, but ended up winning because it averaged out over Egg Flower, but if you were to use the mode, Egg Flower would have won... I blame the voters. :X

This title feels really spiffy, though. So do I get special Arid Canyon 2 betas now or...

:(
Maybe *I* should start "returning" old maps from 1.09.4 and win contests that way.
Well Game Freak get away with releasing the same games over and over, so why shouldn't you? :3

It was not only that but Neo fixed the problems it had problems that made it get dropped to begin with and added more to the map.

The map could have lost still if there was another map with more interesting design and well executed gimmicks but it just did not happen.
