Under thirteen years old, but no fax or mail address?

Hello, I'm having a problem with these forums. I just tried to create an account, saying that I was under thirteen years old, using my E-Mail address for, well, the E-Mail address of the account. When I had set the options I wanted set on my account, and submitted them, the page that I got sent to told me that I had an E-Mail sent to my E-Mail address about activating my account. I read it, and it said that I needed a parent or guardian's permission to register the account. The problem was that it said that they would need to send a fax or letter to an address, but there was no address. I asked my mother if I could create another account using her E-Mail address, and she was fine with that. So I created this account, saying that I was thirteen or over (and I soon will be, it's my birthday in a month and twenty-three days) so that I could post this. Sorry if I'm breaking the rules for doing this. A moderator can ban my account if I am.

Well, my question is: How could I start using my other account on this forum, or could it be deleted by a moderator so that I can create a new one when I am thirteen years old (on the twenty-fifth of February)?

(By the way, why is there a rule about being under thirteen years old anyway? People of any age can read this forum without registering right now, I think, because I could.)

Edit: Oh, and I did ask for permission from my mother first. I always do before registering with something.

I think that under thirteen years old rule for joining shouldn't be there.
It annoyed me when I first tried to join.

That 13-year old thing is not there because we put it there - it's a requirement by a United States federal law passed a few years ago that requires any site that collect information about minors under 13 years of age to obtain parental consent.

However, it's not our fault if you lie to it...

Is there anything I can do about it? I mean, if there was a fax and mail address, I would be able to use this forum if my mother says I can, and sends the fax or letter. It's just that there isn't any address in the E-Mail that was sent to me, so she can't send anything.

It shouldn't apply to people in other countries, though.

Doesn't matter. Whoever owns the forum software must abide by the laws of his/her country. In this case, the SRB2 boards are jointly run by SSN and Mystic. Both live in the US, and both must adhere to the laws.

No-one will know you lied if you don't tell anyone.

Yeah, I'm 10, and I lied because I knew the fedral law said that you must be over 13.

Hey, I lied and now I'm 13. The U.S laws can't harm me, I'm not U.S so that law didn't really apply to me anyway, I don't think, It might have because this is an american board, but who cares? :D

No, you're fine. Basically it's just a parental notification form-Administrative acknowledgement of the same, and according to you, you already have said permission.

I'm 11 and I lied. I've got permission and live in the uk, anyway.

It's like with porn sites. No one ever says that they're under eighteen.

Honestly, as long as you make your parents aware that you made an account on the forums, I couldn't care less about what you tell the stupid forum software.

The rules say you need parental consent, so yeah, if your parents are aware, they don't need to send a fax, they can just say it's ok.

My mother says it's alright, but I still have a problem. My other account, which I called "LXShadow", is stuck because it's inactive. What can I do about this? I don't really want to be known as "LXShadow-2".

Just like I had this old acount "MegasonicUK" But now I got my name back.

"LX-Shadow" was deleted, so you can re-register it.
