Keymap help

I wanted to play on servers but I do not know how to '': '' in the game because my keyboard is Brazilian, so you guys can help me?

I'm not sure why : is important for playing on servers, but on my keyboard, pressing the key to the right of L produces ; while holding shift while pressing it produces : ...I think. I may have gotten the shift-ness the wrong way around. (Also, a " is the key two to the right of L, when shift is held down.)

I checked out Brasilian keyboard from internet and I guess pressing shift and ^ gives the letter you want.
