Boomerang Projectiles

Hi its me agian still working on those "Projects" of mine, and all of a sudden I got hit with the idea of giving one of my characters, enemies, or bosses, a boomerang type object...
I just have no idea how to program, code, or preferrably soc an attack object that returns to what ever fires or throws it with out inflicting damage to the sender... Can any one aide me on this matter?
 
You could probably Spawn an object at the distance it's supposed to go, and if it hits the Wall or the spawned the object, It'll chase the player down then destroy itself.
