Favorites: S3&K, S2, CD, SADX and Sonic Battle.
Worst: SATSR, Chaos and Blast.
Note that I'm talking about Sonic Blast, not 3D blast, which is pretty good.

Here is mine but divided by 2D or 3D

2D:
Favorite: its very to chose between sonic 2 and sonic CD (there is a lot of path to take and i love those soundtracks. S3&K is right under these 2.
Worst: im gonna have to say sonic 2 game gear

EDIT
3D:
Favorite: Since I dont have many 3D sonic games, I'd say the best one I played was Sonic Heroes (PC Version) and played with a game pad
Worst: Sonic and the secret rings (didn't even finished the game because i didn't like it)

And why not, Timberwolf? OP didn't specify that, so I'd say it's fair game. Stay on topic. Now, since I'm here, why not post my favorites...

In terms of graphics, Sonic CD. I love the surreal style it has.
In terms of gameplay, Sonic 3 and Knuckles. There's just a lot of game there, and I think it had exactly the right ratio of story to gameplay.
In terms of music, it's a tossup between Sonic 3D Genesis and Saturn/PC versions.

My least favorite would have to be Sonic Adventure 2. It's not exactly a bad game, but Sonic and Shadow are really the only characters worth playing. Everyone else has boring, gimmicky gameplay.

My favorite Sonic game is possibly Sonic Heroes. It has a large amount of big levels, and they're all fun to race in and run through. There's several different gameplay styles with the different stories, along with secondary missions. I like the fun multiplayer modes and the simple, fast-paced gameplay. The music is great and enjoyable and I like the details in the levels.

My least favorite, on the other hand, is possibly Sonic CD. It's cramped with spikes and enemies so I can never gain a good speed without getting hurt by obstacles or stop dead at a wall. The levels are maze-like most of the time, resulting in them dragging on much longer than they should. The boss battles are pathetically easy and short-lived. The time-travel gimmick was interesting, but as it's hard to gain a good speed for a long time (which is how you activate time travel), it isn't very notable. I do like the Special Stages in this game, as they're fun to play, considering you can manage to hold fifty Rings by the end of the stage. I'm not a fan of the music, besides the one in Tidal Tempest Zone.

Those choices are pretty unconventional, Kysarin. But you support them with good logic. It's nice to get a change in perspective every once in a while.

I think that overall, Sonic Heroes has gorgeous, well-defined visual themes for each zone, contributing to a satisfying game structure similar to the Sonic titles of the early 90's. Furthermore, the background music usually compliments the atmosphere of each individual act very well (for instance, the easy-going Casino Park tune is just as appropriate as Bingo Highway's frantic theme) Aesthetically speaking, Heroes was a success at least to the extent of Sonic Adventure and its sequel.

The thing that ruins Heroes for me is the squandered level design. We all know that the levels are too linear and too lengthy and too boring. The very worst thing, though, is that the game's truly innovative and interesting control scheme is largely negated by a serious lack of exploration. I mean, the player controls a highly maneuverable team that can run, fly and break its way almost anywhere. How the developers of Heroes failed to recognize this set up as highly conductive to open-ended, sprawling exploration-based levels is beyond me. Instead, the final product featured some of the most tedious marathon-lengthed obstacle courses ever. They're pretty obstacle courses, mind you, but obstacle courses nonetheless.

As for Sonic CD... I believe most perceptions of that particular game depend on what you value about the Sonic series: Graceful flow through levels, opportunities for through exploration, or a mix of the two. I happen to like my games with plenty of exploration, so I don't mind hopping freely through the cookie-cutter level design of CD. This is in stark contrast to Sonic 3 and Knuckles, which usually forces the player to go through a limited number of self-contained paths through any given level. It could be interesting to debate the respective merits of Sonic CD and Sonic 3 and Knuckles's specific approaches to level design.

Hey Kysarin, have you listened to the Japanese soundtrack of Sonic CD? It could be more up your alley.

Favorites: Sonic 2, 3, S3&K, Sonic Adventure

Worst: Sonic Heroes (Ugh, the Special Stages x.x;)

Currently playing: Sonic Unleashed (360). Ugh, Sonic is hard to control in Day stages and things go by faster than I would like. Especially Cool Edge Act 1 (Yeah, running on water, if you slow down or hit something you die), and I'm already not looking forward to Eggmanland after seeing a youtube video on it.

The Werehog stages are pretty good though, but it's crazy easy to score S-ranks. Just Critical Attack any enemy that you can do a Critical on and don't die during the level. Do that and you're guaranteed an S.
