Control/music lag in Single Player

Hello all,

I reimaged my computer a few weeks ago, and SRB2 hasn't worked right since then. I'm experiencing a strange kind of lag in Single Player...there's no frame lag, but the controls and music are both lagging. The latter especially is deeply disruptive; it sounds sort of like Skype with a bad network connection.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, any advice on solving it?

The music error, if it sounds all jumpy and distorted, can be solved by literally turning the volume all the way down, pressing the windows button, doing something else for a minute, then going back into game and turning volume back to desired setting. At least for me anyway.

The control lag... is something I'm yet to see. :S

Have you tried any compatibility settings yet? That seems to be the go-to solution for everything these days.

Change to OpenGL works for me to decrease lag.
