My XWE doesn't work! Help!

I can't get it to start up.

The wiki said:

After extracting XWE into your folder, a simple setup is required. Once XWE is extracted, open the program. A little box should pop up. It should look a bit like this:

That box doesn't show up and I can't do anything else with XWE because of that.

When I start up XWE is says

Faild to create key .WAD

Click to expand...

And then the XWE window pops up and it says

List index out of bounds (0)

Click to expand...

When I try and make a new file or open another file on there, the list index message pops up again and the number in the parenthesis goes up. Then XWE completely freezes on everything except it lets me exit out the program.

What's going on here?

Yes but the last time I used it, it worked.
I've tried SlumpEd but everytime I pull up sprites from a WAD, It shows up in black and white. The wiki also said to convert it into Doom GFX. I did that and it still stays that way.

Okay I tried SlumpEd on the laptop, and when it started it asked which program to get colors from. Except this time it actually gave my sprites color instead of what the computer did

Try logging in as an administrator.

Okay, this is when I'm editing and coloring a sprite, how do I color a sprite?

Try exporting the frame you want to edit, opening the image in a picture editing program, adding changes, saving, and inserting the image back into the WAD with the name it needs.
