Heck, I'm posting quite a lot in this thread. That's probably because I tend to find some pretty amazing songs lately.

Mom released a new CD this week. It's typically awesome, and reached #1 on Bandcamp for a day.

All of those songs I actually really enjoy, but I'm not too big on Zebrahead. Now to add a favorite Album/EP: Trash FM by Benjamin Briggs.

I posted this on irc as one of those so bad it's good songs, and everyone got a good laugh out of it, so may as well share it here too.

This song has always been a favourite of mine, it's so delightfully awful.

...

Oh boy, y'all have started something now. I'm gonna pick ten for brevity's sake.
"Orchard of Mines"Globus, Epicon
"Watchmen, Tell Us of the Night"Mark Camphouse
"Wooden Ships"Crosby, Stills & Nash, Crosby, Stills & Nash
These are the only three pieces that have ever brought me to tears. They hold a special place in my heart and thus get the top three spots.
"Us and Them"Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon
"Sleep"Eric Whitacre (I can't believe I couldn't find the official version of this on YouTube, I'll upload it there and change the link shortly)
"I Dream a Highway"Gillian Welch, Time (The Revelator)
These pieces hold unbelievable power for me, perhaps more than the ones above them; however, they have never touched me so, and unfortunately, this brings them down to below those above.
"No Quarter"Led Zeppelin, Houses of the Holy
"Wings for Marie"Tool, 10,000 Days
"Music for 18 Musicians"Steve Reich
"Sad Statue"System of a Down, Mezmerize
These pieces also hold great power and simply deserve a place on this Official Top Ten list.

This was incredibly difficult. I limited myself to ten pieces because otherwise I would have just dumped my entire library on you (and my father's) and that wouldn't have been fun for anyone. I tried to not only pick the most powerful tunes but also pieces from a large swath of the spectrum, my favorite artists/composers, and my favorite albums. So consider this a starting point for exploration. Or something like that. Yeah, that sounds right.

That being said, this is by no means a complete—or even correct—list.

Someone had just shown me this last night. I thought it was super weird...

But yeah, recently I have just gotten into this band called Twenty One Pilots. For about a year that I've been hanging around some of my friends, they always played this in the car and now I'm finally interested in the group and their music as a whole.
My top three favorite songs (so far) from them are:

Migraine
Car Radio
Guns for Hands

They are actually pretty good and I just wanna spread the love of Twenty One Pilots to you guys.

I don't know how much is that music for me but they control the most important thing: They got something own, both in the music (especially Migraine) and on videos.

My favorite music is a little different. I like different types of trance, at least the songs that really make you excited. It is very unpopular in my country and that's why I don't actually know any trance producers from my country. That's not a problem unless I would like to make this my self some day...

Edit: here's an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBDt5hXQ660

I've been listening to the radio much more often since I've started driving the past few months, and I rediscovered some songs I really liked when I was little and still really like now. Most stations on the radio play the same few songs over and over again (Why you gotta be so ruuude?), and it was a damn miracle to find one that didn't do such a thing. But yes, music.

Pinch Me - Barenaked Ladies
Tom's Diner - Susanne Vega
Ordinary Day - Great Big Sea
It's My Life - Bon Jovi

I still listen to video game music, but simply not as often. Totally a big fan of anything that sounds like this or any kind of drum n' bass, even though they practically clash with each other.

Anything Bon Jovi is good.

My musical tastes are probably trash to most of you. Lots of video game remixes, Vocaloids, (I still hate JPop, though; only listen to Vocaloid songs outside that genre.) ENYA, maybe a little Dara Maclean, Weird Al, some movie OSTs, and Rob Zombie or Papa Roach when I need a hardcore rise.

Even Jake Kaufman, Shantae's main composer from the beginning of the series, composed video game remixes inspired by the guy's music.

Even if he's not likely as legendary as Elvis, he's as popular as any other well-exposed musician; far from obscure.

There's a reason I haven't posted in this topic =P

Honestly, I was exaggerating there to make a point that narrow topics are a terrible idea on this forum.

It did give me a good laugh when you said it that way, so you win there. I do agree highly specific topics fizzle pretty quickly. Generalized topics like these allow for a lot more active discussion.

Hey, I forgot about this topic.
So I've been listening to a lot of music lately and I've found a lot of good ones spanning many different genres. But yeah, without further ado, here they are.

Dream Fiend - The World Next Door (I feel like I was transported to the 80s. I wasn't born until the late 90s but this still plucks my nostalgia strings. Gotta love those synths.)
Groundislava - Final Impasse (I can't even tell what genre this is, but it sounds amazing.)
Arms and Sleepers - Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye (Ooh this is sexy, I especially like the climax near the end (please don't take that out of context).)
Helios - The Obeisant Vine (Really, really beautiful song. I love the drums, guitar, bass and everything.)
Steven Price - Gravity (I thought the movie was alright, but holy moly, this song is great.)
Laputa: Castle in the Sky (This film is one of my favorite films of all time, and this song is one of my favorite orchestral pieces of all time.)
The Last Unicorn (NSP Cover) (Danny's voice is sexy and the synths are perfect. Need I say more?)
Kan. R. Gao - To the Moon Main Theme (To the Moon has some great music.)
Anamanaguchi - Helix Nebula (A chiptune classic from 2006. Love the mixture of NES and real instruments.)
Tycho - The Disconnect
