Default PolyObject Quirks


HEY WOAH POLYOBJECT FLATS OK WOW. Even though I was following Red's dev playground thread, I was never truly expecting such beautiful things to come to ME of all people. The new physics are great as well—except, well, when you touch things.


It seems that the whatever anti-wallslide (or generally frictionful) code that kicks in when you touch the walls of a polyobject does so without taking into account the fact that the wall is moving as well. Here I strafed into it and my absolute speed died—undoubtedly because the game subtracted regular wall friction from my velocity.

I applaud you guys whole-handedly (ha) for opening the ol' physics can, but it is without a doubt a can of worms of the slimiest variety.
