hey spazzo, can you please unban me? i wasnt trying to be anoying i was
looking for channels with people in them, im sorry.

my nick is dustin.

Since I haven't layed down a fair guideline of rules to follow, I can see how this might be troublesome.

Remind me in three days, and I will unban you. Just don't repeatingly join the server, just to go channel hopping.

EDIT: Due to his continuous and deliberate spamming of both the teamspeak server and one of my channel admins, Dustin is now permbanned.

Sorry about that server downtime, my computer crashed on me, forcing me to restart. It should be back up right around now.

The next step for this server should be the rules...

I can't connect. Is the server down? Or is it just my computer? Because every time I try to connect it give me this:

No reply from server
Maybe the server is offline
or maybe teamspeak is not running on it

It was working two days ago...(Used the tags wrong... oops)

I am not demanding this to be the rules or anything I would just make a suggestion on how I would like to see the rules like.
1#: Use common sense. Deliberate spamming of the server or people is against the rules. You may be kicked or banned for this.
2#: No linking to Sex/Porn sites. We DO NOT want to see it. You can however link any other thing. Such as Videos(No Sex/Porn) Fangames. And WADs/SOCs.
3#: Flaming. Insulting. Or Trolling is against the rules.
4#: Do not mess with the Channel Operators or Administrators. You may get Kicked or Banned.
5#: No bringing personal arguments to the channel. Please settle that on I.M or another type of chat away from the channel.
6#: No arguments that are Democratic. Presidental. or another type of somewhat like the War that is happening.
7#: No racism. Saying such things as "Your black? You suck then" is against the rules.
8#: No channel hopping. Look at the channel that you are going to join. Be sure there is atleast somebody who doesn't have their Microphone or Sound muted. As they may be ready to chat. That is acceptable. But if you just mindlessly hop from channel to channel with nobody in them. You may get kicked or banned.
9#: MAKE SURE YOU ARE IN THE CORRECT CHANNEL. If you are in Off-Topic you should be discussing about random things. If you are in netplay you should be playing a netgame. If you are in General Discussion you should be talking about Random SRB2 Things.
10#: The final rule. If you create a message to generate an angry responce or disrupt the channel, Do not.
That is what I think a good list of rules would be.
(I bet you saw me try to copy off of one of the SRB2 MessageBoard rules...)

It's finally back up.

The unverified rules.
I think that's fair enough. Oh, and another thing: If you are going to be away for a while, make sure you go to the Away Area. Do not join the Away Area if you are not going to be away.(Or something like that)

Hey guys, sorry about that downtime - thunderstorm forced me to power down my system, so I couldn't host a server regardless.

In other news, I appreciate that you guys have begun to create a set of rules - my only real problem with it is it's location. Where exactly can we put these rules somewhere, where users will find them easily? I could edit the first post in this topic, but I'm not sure how well that would fair...

I'll probably end up asking somebody for a bit of webspace to host a simple HTML file, containing these rules (with some appropate adjustments made, of course.)

You are always away when you log into the server, aren't you Spazzo? I've been waiting for you to become avaliable for once... and you hardly become avaliable when I'm around...

Thunderstorm? Not good.

Hey, I try going on as much as possible, but like most of us, I have a life of some sorts. ^_~

Trust me, i'm usually very active during 5:00-8:00 on Weekdays. Otherwise, I join to see how many people are active, because the serveradmin config file only shows how many registered users are online.

Oh yeah, I'm still dissapointed by the average amount of users in there. I'm not expecting it to replace #srb2fun or anything, but at least give it a shot (this directed at users who have a user title that is not simply "user"). It's a really unique and different experience, and it helps add to the realism of the game. Plus, you don't have to waste idling time typing and typing. :P

You are in the "Away Area" when I'm on, is what I meant.

I have a banning system set up if you would like it.
1st Ban: 1 Day
2nd Ban: 3 Days
3rd Ban: 5 Days
4th Ban: 8 Days
5th Ban: 13 Days.
6th Ban: Permanent.
Also. Like this Message Board. If you wait for the set number of weeks..... 2, 3, and 4, You will get the same ban as you got the last time.

Edit: here is a screenshot of the most people I have seen yet on the teamspeak server:
(Click on the picture to see it better)

For me, I wish to see at least a little less than that many people everytime I log in. :( Hopefully the SRB2 Teamspeak channel gets more popular.

The banning system should be like the MB (and in certain cases, overruled like what happened to "dustin")

After warning the user once and the user continues to be disruptive, then:

First time - Banned for 3 days
Second Time - Banned for a week
Third time - Permanently banned from the teamspeak server.

Rules should be:

1) Do not hop channels constantly
2) Obey the Channel Admins / Server Admins and do what they say
3) Use common sense and don't do things that are annoying like playing music when other people might not want to hear it
4) If you need to test you mic or stuff, do it in a channel that has no-one in it. You can use "Sound Recorder" under windows and record your voice and play it back to make sure that you can hear yourself ok
5) Don't post or say any bad things on teamspeak, it will get you kicked or banned (It can fall under common sense)
6) No hacking the server
7) Join the appropriate channel for what you are doing. Example: SRB2 netgame in the netgame channel and not in the "lobby" or "Away" channels
8 ) You don't like the rules, don't come back...

The order may have to be switched and tweaked around a bit, but this should work well.

To facilitate users who are having microphone issues, I have created a "Microphone Testing" channel, in order to mess with your microphone, and make sure it's working. It would probably be a good idea to have a friend be in the channel with you at the same time, to help you "test" your microphone.

@Sonict: I approve of those rules, with the ouvious exception of the "find an empty channel" rule, which is just a minor tweak.

First Post updated with the rules and the admin list. I will continue to update this first post, when I add new administrators and the like.

Teamspeak server (Back-up)

Since Spazzo's server is currently down atm, I have made an SRB2 teamspeak server that you guys will be able to go to if his server is down.

To join it, use this ip: 72.137.230.173:8767

This server will be off when Spazzo's server is working and if his isn't, I will turn on this server. No chan-ops will be made, no registered users, and nothing of that sort will occur on here.

This server will turn off when I need to do it. If I'm not on IRC, assume the back-up server is off.

Sonict

Thanks for that, Sonict. A backup server is a good tool to have.

Main TS server is back online. I really don't have any idea what's causing all of these failures, but I know it needs to stop soon, or else I really shouldnt be hosting a TS server.

Um... Spazzo. Are you sure that it is up now? I just tried joining it and it didn't work. Did your ip change or something?
