Is there a way to disable snapping to grids for thing placing? When I press CTRL+ENTER or click on the tab, nothing happens.

There should be a button on the tool bar at the top that says (Snap to grid).

Hmm. Well reinstall SRB2 DB. Thats all the advice I can give you.

Go into the editing toolbar, and look down the line, you will find "snap to grid" with a check mark next to it. Click "snap to grid" to turn it off.

I know where the thing you're talking about is. It's under <editing> -> Snap to grid.

Set it on for snapping, off otherwise. If you don't see it, maximize the window.

To clear things up, the "snap to grid" option that you used originally takes the current selection and snaps it to the grid; the one you were looking for, and which Sik pointed you to, toggles snapping of items when they are drawn or dragged.
