Changing characters in SRB2?

Hey guys, miss me? Yeah, I didn't think so either.

Anyways, I forgot how to change characters in single player SRB2. Anyone remember how to do that? I think I remember that you can only do that in 1.09.4, but I really don't remember.

You can't do that.

From what I remember, you actually can, by adding a second player, changing your character, and removing the second player. Only thing is, I don't remember what you do exactly.

That exploit has been removed. There is no way to change character in single player.

Yeah, you can change skins.
Open up the console and put in DEVMODE 1. Then put skin tails for example to change to Tails. Put Knuckles/Sonic to change to them respectively. Be warned that this turns on cheats and you won't be able to complete the game and gain rewards. I doubt you would care if you already unlocked them though.

I don't think the splitscreen command works anymore since I tried putting splitscreen 1 and it didn't work.
