Cirno on easy mode is...easy. :P
What helped me quite a bit was playing on Lunatic mode, because when you return to normal, it seems like a piece of cake :P

Although, it's still quite a difficult piece of cake.

Well, I finally beat Flandre after several weeks of trying. Such an insanely hard stage and boss fight.

I fail pretty epically at the games, and that's while playing Normal... Stuff like inconsistently defeating Aya in MoF, getting exterminated by the Prismrivers in PCB, ... I guess not everyone is a born grazer ;) Half the reason I keep going is the music. Oh god ZUN's a musical genius.

Lemme assure you that Flandre is a lot harder than she looks. Good lord, figuring out the holes in all those attacks was insanely hard, and a lot of the attacks have random elements.

Oh wow, how did I miss this?

So yeah, I'm actually one of the earlier adopters here, having first played sometime in the spring of 2008. I started with EoSD, needing multiple continues to clear easy mode, but have since clawed my way up to having hard mode as my difficulty of choice(with a 1cc on hard in every game save for tHRtP and UFO, to boot). Additionally, I have beaten all the extra stages in the series thus-far. I also enjoy listening to remixes of the songs, and reading manga based on the series... and I do Touhou related photoshops occasionally.

When I started playing the game more regularly later that year, I started introducing the series to some other people, like Kuja, JEV3, Mystic, Senku, among others. A good chunk of the Touhou SHMUP players around here can trace their start with the series either with me, or someone I introduced.

Also, to respond to a few things said in the topic already,

Wow. I started in 2007. Still can't beat EOSD Normal 1cc. You must be quite good o.o
I get so distracted by the bullet patterns when playing...must look at pretty pattern D:

Also...regarding PoFV, I've only played it once, so I was wondering - how is letting go of the shoot button beneficial in that game?

Well if you don't let go, you'll stop firing. You have to mash Z to fire in PoFV.

Been gawking at this video for a while, figure those that don't visit IRC want to see it. View the original first, the subs somewhat ruin the visual effect, but are awesome once you see it because the lyrics actually work along the images, especially if you recognize the characters onscreen.

I seem to take a liking to Touhou, though I'm not a fan of it's shmup perspective. You could say I would take a shot at playing Unthinkable Natural Law (Touhou 12.3) rather than Perfect Cherry Blossom.

In other news, I've been obsessing over the various sprites used in this April Fool's day hoax which is more than a year old and I had only recently stumbled upon the collection of sprites being used for it. I seem to have viewed this as being in similar aspects to what Valkyrie Profile is like; And speaking of Valkyrie Profile-esque settings..!

With this completed, the only standard games I have yet to complete on Normal are Perfect Cherry Blossom and Imperishable Night FinalB. I'm still a ways off of 1cc, but once I learn how to bomb appropriately, then I'm sure I'll be much closer to achieving that. (the rest will be memorizing the attacks and keeping a level head)

Bloom Nobly, Cherry Blossoms of Sumizome ~ Border of Life was my introduction to the series. More specifically, while I'd heard about the series before, it was WAVE's Border of Life remix that caused me to actually pay attention to the series. I'd been listening to remixes (vocal and orchestral) on youtube for quite some time before even touching a Touhou game.
Prime introduced me to Touhou first by giving me the PC-98 games so that I could see if I liked them. Lotus Land Story was my first game, played on Easy, and decided this was unlike any shmup I've seen before. Mystic Square was my first finished game, I beat Shinki with Reimu on Easy and even on Easy it was unforgiving difficult. While replaying Mystic Square, I took quite a liking to the Stage 3 boss (Alice!) and Marisa. Since then, Marisa's been the character I focus on.
He bought me Perfect Cherry Blossom, and I managed to complete it on Easy before buying myself Imperishable Night and Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. At this point, I stopped playing on Easy and could not go back to Lotus Land Story Easy without missing some of the danmaku.

I'm a huge fan of the player-character Marisa Kirisame, and an even more fanatical fan of Alice Margatroid. Marisa's power and wit attracted me to her while Alice's unique, almost melancholy personality (even in her cute and younger counterpart in MS) compounded with the interesting premise of her as a puppeteer with a locked Grimoire made me a fan. Although its sometimes cute (such as the case in Marisa Stole the Precious Thing), I generally don't like Alice-Marisa pairings because it doesn't fit my interpretations of the characters, among other reasons. One of my all time favorite remixes/videos is Artificial Children, a tragic take on Alice's backstory.
I've also developed a healthy respect for Reisen, after being driving mad by her red eyes while playing through Imperishable Night. I lost that game not due to lack of skill but due to pure panic. Yuyuko and Shinki both also hold a special place due to being the first final bosses I encountered.

I was spouting Cirno jokes before the first time I even played Icicle Fall Easy, and since then I've been known to reference her in both subtle, and not so subtle ways... most notably turning a forum I administrate totally upside down. Don't Believe Me?

Better stop now before I begin rambling. Nah, too late for that.

I just had my games come in the mail, so I now beat UFO 1cc multiple times. I also just 1cced Lotus Land Story and Mystic Square for amusement.

Considering how badly Shinki used to rape me, I think it's clear I'm finally starting to not suck at these games.

While messing around on the internet, I found a TF2 mod entitled: "Touhou Fortress 2" that replaces the player skins with touhou characters. It's not fully done yet, but it's still being worked on.
