mIRC - Ban length.

All the rules say is you will get banned. does the strike system apply to bans here too?
 
No. Be stupid and your kicked, be stupid again and your banned. It works like that, usually a ban lasts a couple of hours, but if you complain about yourself getting banned, it lasts much, much longer.
 
Please do not mix up IRC and mIRC. They are two different things. IRC is the communication protocol, while mIRC is a client used to access it. You aren't supposed to go around saying that X happened on mIRC - mIRC is not the protocol. It is the client. Other clients can connect to IRC as well.

And here I get banned for week-long periods for no reason... I must be special.

I advise you don't complain, it only makes things worse.

Anyways, why should you care about ban length if you're not going to get banned anyway? riiiiight?
