Camera Change when Player given MF_NOTHINK

When I give the player mobj the MF_NOTHINK flag, the camera zooms in a bit. Is there any way to avoid or compensate for this, or will I just need to live with that?

Also, since I know someone's probably going to ask, the reason why I want to give the player mobj the MF_NOTHINK flag is because I want the game to pause when the inventory screen is open, but a true pause is not viable, so I need to make a "pseudo-pause" by freezing the player and various other objects.
