It looks as if the gravity physics for the Gargoyle isn't quite perfected yet. Gargoyles exhibit strange behavior when you push them off of a rising FOF (falling is okay):
As this picture demonstrates, the Gargoyle goes flying up for a second before starting to fall. It's almost as if it takes a second to realize that it's no longer sitting on anything.
