Super Chris

That one map maker.
Welcome to Casino Avenue! There are lots of Casino games to play in this lovely resort! Zoom through many places on this lovely course! You can also get to ride the Rainbow Tube at the end!

NOTE: If you run into any glitches, please notify me so I can fix it.

Thank you for playing Casino Avenue!

Aside from the huge overload of item boxes, this level seems passable. Just vastly reduce the amount of item boxes and it's fit for release. :)

This is more of a "house wad" than a Casino level. If it's named Casino, it's because of the colors and Special Stages textures. The path is certainly passable, but you have to do something about the textures. And remove anything that is not from a Casino. If you want the level to take place inside of a casino, then add slot machine textures or flashy stuff. Look at Sonic And Sega All-Star Racing and try to get a similar result.

Thank you for the tip. I won't forget next time I make another Mario Kart level.

There are some slot machines in the level, but I'm trying to make the road look similar to the one of the Casino Race multiplayer level from Sonic Heroes (Or something like that because I don't remember). There are some real Casino resorts that have lots of hotels. The room next to the last checkpoint before the lap had elevators to the rooms up. (I didn't make the rooms so don't bug me. :P) Also that "Rainbow Tube" at the end is supposed to be a zoom tube, but I'm not going to make it a zoom tube.

And speaking of which... What does a "house wad" have to do with the price of tea in China? I've been to casino resorts and they had stuff like this. This is a casino-hotel level. Please do not accept this level as a "hangout" wad.

The file prefix for Mario Kart is k, not mk. Just for convenience, could you rename your file to "k_casinoavenue.wad" and reupload it?

EDIT: Also:

  • Supply screenshots. Simply attach them to the post.
  • Mention the map number.
  • Don't put the springs and item boxes so close together.

Actually, there hasn't been an official prefix for Mario Kart levels. Fawfulman started with mk_, but everyone went on with D00D's k_.

I know there isn't an official prefix, but everybody followed D00D64, so I consider that the "official" abbreviation. "mk" is stupid anyway because you might think it means Match + Kart.

I know that. But as I said, people might confuse it for Match + Kart. I'd like to stick with one-letter prefixes.

"mk" Isn't really stupid. No one plays match on srb2 riders, so it would be obvious that "mk" stands for Mario Kart.

Theoretically yes, but at first glance it might be confusing. "k_levelname.wad" is easier for everybody.

It's a terrible attempt at resembling a casino, ugly over use of SS textures (especially on high walls, it hurts peoples eyes, or atleast mine), extremely open non-challenging, short map that has no real attraction to it, and has too many unnecessarily bland rooms that trick new players into thinking it's the right way to go. A.K.A.? An awful house.wad passed off as a Mario Kart level.

And it doesn't help when the creator can't even fucking accept a little C+C when he asks for it, and expects extreme ass licking from his audience and kicks any players who "hate" on it. Fo' shame.

Look, in order to create a Casino related level, level designers have to use the Special Stage textures to make one.
Side Note: If you don't like the level, then stop playing it.

And speaking of which, kicking has nothing to do with the topic. I just got a little over-excited.

Do I need to answer this again? Stop referring this to a hangout wad.

Or you could use custom textures that actually look like a Casino, or you could just change the name.

An example of why this level will never get any better than it is now.

nope

It's hard not to, considering all one has to do is take away the Karts and it'll be just like one.

This looks and acts nothing like a casino, yet it looks and acts just like your other alleged casino wad. Neither of the maps are casinos, and no poorly constructed slot machines or tables can change that alone. They really need custom textures to even START looking like how they're supposed to be. Funny thing is, these wads are incompatible with eachother due to taking up the same slot. Also, there is absolutely no reason to replace any of the main stages. Just use some level header options to get the normal tracks and this track into the same rotation. It's not hard. As for Casino avenue... I dunno, they're both pretty much the same, might as well scrap one and work on the other.

As for the track, it was so forgettable I had to play it again just to remember. It's nothing special, with very few spots to even get a drift boost. The most of your obstacles are a car and a fountain. These are mainly buildings randomly strung together by pieces of Rainbow Road to form the level. Its very "meh", so to speak. The other course is almost completely the same, so the same words apply there. I just really couldn't give a damn.
