If you want Sonic and Tails in Single Player, just start a split-screen game in SRB2JTE, type ADDBOT XXX, then SPLITSCREEN OFF, and go nuts. JTE bots apparently have unlimited lives in Single Player, so they continuously respawn like Tails does in Sonic 2.

This was actually attempted before with NORMAL SRB2 sprites, and nobody really liked the idea. So yeah, JTE FTW.

This guy had the same idea, but as previously stated, it won't look good in 3D. IF you want to make something like this, then Tails needs to be at the same height as Sonic. As in, on the floor too. But I still say you shouldn't bother with this.
