Ty the Tasmanian Tiger is a video game series originally debuted in 2002 on the GameCube, PS2 and Xbox. The game got 2 sequels in 2004 and 2005. The studio developing the Ty series, Krome Studios, then went on to make games like Star Wars the Force Unleashed, and The Legend of Spyro.

Years later now after recovering from an economic crash and a huge layoff in the company, there has since been a 4th Ty game (this one being a 2D platformer), among a couple other games. Though more importantly they made a remastered release of the first three games on PC, this is what the topic is mostly concerned with. Ty 1 and Ty 2 are already on full release on steam, and Ty 3 is going into Steam Early Access on March 19th!

These games at their core are 3D platforming collect-a-thons, and a must have in my opinion for those fans to the genre. Controls are solid, themes are fun, levels and challenges fair, and gameplay something to keep someone busy for as much time as someone wants to put into it, from a few hours to beat the story alone bare bones, or a few additional hours to get that 100%

The remasters are worth the purchase today due to the many updates each game is getting, from changes visually including draw distance upgrades, adding bloom SSAO and other stuff, to gameplay changing in some areas, like streamlining the driving sections in Ty 2 so that the game doesn't have to worry about the slow loading times plaguing the original release.

Any thoughts on these re-releases of the games, or anyone remember this game series from back a few years?

Haha, wow I remember having the original game way back on the PS2. I can't decide if I think it's kind of cringe-worthy or just silly looking back at it though.
