Ever composed music?

Haha, well, perhaps your terminology is a bit weaker, but your sound design and digital composition knowledge are quite a bit stronger...and that's what really matters. I'll send you an update once I try all the stuff you suggested.

EDIT: Man...Blue, I just listened to your Kirby and Megaman feud...I love everything about it. Instrument choice, dynamics, mixing. Must...get better.

Heavily inspired by Hirokazu Ando's works on the Kirby franchise. He incorporates a lot of staccato and silence between notes, which often gives it a quirky toybox feel; other times it's an effective technique for clarifying and giving punch to melodies. His chord progression and basslines also tend to be somewhat unorthodox and jazzlike. Some of his work in Triple Deluxe happen to be really good examples (such as the boss theme), but Kirby's Dream Course is also flooded with it.

I made another tune inspired by Ando's stuff, but I never uploaded it. I'll bring it up when I get a chance.

I like it, it has a very peaceful and bouncy feel. I definitely noticed that use of staccato and silence in this...love the little rhythmic parts.

Also man, I have a long ways to go. I did not notice anything lacking in the mix. Would you happen to have a document of notes you've taken on digital music through the years? If so, I would love to read it.

I honestly don't take any notes.... It's pretty much just trial and error, learning new tricks, and storing sounds I've made that I like the most.

I do some music too, mostly using midis from Vgmusic.com. I really like to take newer Sonic songs, and redo them with genesis instruments.
I also did some 8-bit sounding remixes of Srb2 songs, for a wad I was planning to do, but never finished. I've also messed around with trying to remaster some songs with real instruments, but since I only know how to work with midis, I'm not too good with that.

Here are some of my tracks I'm most proud of.

I suck at playing the piano and making original tracker module tunes. However, I do have a lot of fun and experience with converting modules from TheModArchive into YM2612 VGM Genesis tunes as covers, for playback with audio players with VGM plugins. My pride and joy is my Ultra Air Hockey album, which I created for an in-progress Genesis homebrew title.

One of the teachers at the Japanese school asked me if I wanted to join the kids for music during afternoon break. I said sure, expecting to maybe play melodica/recorder with them. When I got to the music room, there was a drumset next to the piano...the teacher asked me to play something I like. I asked him if he knew Sobakasu (opening theme to Rurouni Kenshin). He said yes, and we had a random on the spot improv jam. Asked if I could record, and I set my phone on a desk to record the audio.

Never experienced a random jam like this before... I've always played solo/classical growing up. It was an unexpectedly amazing experience. Sorry for all the mistakes, I had no idea this was going to happen (I'm so glad it did though!)

Parts of that are oddly reminiscent... of SRB2SBAHJ's soundtrack somehow?

By the way, I have a Soundcloud now in case anyone wants to have their ears destroyed multiple times over.

Composing is different than I first thought. I make music with LMMS and everything actually takes longer than first expected. And in the few cases I get a song finished, it requires to be listened again after long time enough, because after using hours with the music, everything sounds more perfect than it is. And after those weeks you find out that perfection was just nooby crap.

My best and only published song so far: https://soundcloud.com/rikuous/preyingdive
