2560x1440 crashes the game on level load

Status
Not open for further replies.
This isn't of high importance because it doesn't really break anything hugely as I can go down to 1920x1080 and it'll work fine, but a bug is a bug. It's probably even lower importance as Software mode doesn't support anything beyond 1920x1080.

I've tested this on two different monitors, on two different PCs.

So, yeah, running SRB2 in 2560x1440 resolution crashes the game on level load.

EDIT: Loading SRB1 makes the game stop working, as in "srb2win.exe has stopped working" working, not a sigsegv. I think it's a skin issue for some odd reason. Quoted from the log file above: "Skin -1 not found".

I have no clue if this is correct but is it possible that the huge screen size overloaded the maximum draw memory SRB2 is capable of handling...?
Mmmm, possibly...? Here's a screenshot of right before it crashes (took with Steam).

As you can see on the right...the screen's been drawn weird. And Sonic is green for some odd reason.

Guys, be aware that SRB2 was built for 320 x 200 resolution. Running it at THAT massive a res will LIKELY cause it to break.

The simple solution to this is not to run it that high. I'm aware you WANT to but this really shouldn't constitute a bug report, the game crapping itself out by doing FAR more than it was designed to is a given.
