Well I always thought it would be more likely that Sonic would run on water than Tails.. after all, he does in Sonic 3 and in the Sonic CD intro.

Water isn't hard enough to put your feet on and run across. Tails hovers and uses his tails like one of those boats with the huge fan behind it.

Tails running on the water is part of a gameplay mechanic that has yet to be fully manifested.

If you grab speed shoes with Tails he can run on top of the water (it works in GFZ2)

Interesting. BUt it would only be fair for Sonic to run on water. But I don't know much but I think it would be that Sonic runs only in a straight line witout straffing <-- (Did I spell it write?)

Yes, how useful it is for Tails be run on water when he needs speed shoes to do it and when it would be useful there aren't any speed shoes around -.-
