SF94-Serv

Whenever you have some free time and are willing to work on this again, please port the NPCs that talk to you to Lua, and make what they say be a CEcho instead of a CSay, because the current way they're handled spams the console with errors.

...And also make the elevator button in the house in SF94-City kill you less.

Speaking of SF94-City, the shield shop was broken in the last update.

About that The button itself is solid so spining under it will crush you
Lj can try and make it not solid but that wouldn't be a option since
if its not solid it wouldn't be pushable

Update!

3.85 it out!
Many various changes in this version, here is a list of the most important ones:

  • Shops in SF94 Plaza and Green City (which is now available) now actually cost rings. To buy a shield just spin.
  • In Single Player and Co-op, rings and ringboxes respawn after two minutes. It can be changed with respawnitemtimecoop, a console variable that works the same way as respawnitemtime from vanilla.
  • The beaches in SF94 Plaza and Green City have been improved. In SF94 Plaza the sea is way bigger and deeper and the water isn't green like it used to be in past releases. In addition it slowly moves up and down. In Green City you can access a larger area of the beach.
  • In Green City The green shield IS green (yea pity shield ._.)
  • Green City had a few minor textures and colormaps changes and some plants now use Botanic Serenity Zone sprites.
  • In SF94 Plaza the button in the elevator no more crushes you. I just made it intangible for the record, which is absolutely not a problem technically.
  • The flames in the firecamp in SF94 Plaza's beach now correctly appear at night.

Aw, I'll see for that when I have time although it seems to work fine for me. Maybe the uploading failed?

Oh yeah, forgot to mention...

You kinda broke the buttons to open/close the secret room by moving the entrance to the secret room.
The reason i'd use them, is because the other buttons in said room are annoying, to say the least. The infamous Weegeepocalypse button makes annoying music play just about endlessly, while ruining the scenery, And the size buttons are self explanatory. Although the button problem could be removed by removing them all, who would miss them, anyway?
...And yet, i have no idea what i'm achieving by adding this information into the post.

Just a quick bugfix for those who miss the jumpsphere that was missing in the previous version. Also the jumpsphere no more appears when you're gliding.
Sorry for not being active but I'm extremely busy IRL currently :/

So, as Lat mentioned, there seems to be a bug.
Happened again in a Netgame.

This time the game crashed afterwards. Was playing SF94.
EDIT: This happened to everyone else in the server too.

What he didn't say, however, is that it happened while someone was talking to an NPC, which is demonstrated in the log, although, i can disconfirm the game crashing to everyone, as mine didn't crash.
It is still something to do with the talking NPCs, however.

I'm finally working on fixing the talking NPCs, but because of HUD bad offsets in some resolutions, I'm not sure how it'll be going :/

Update!

3.87 is out!

  • The NPC messages system has been remade from scratch: messages are now local to the player reading them and no more use console commands, which probably fixed most of the bugs and crashes involving the netcmd buffer (or whatever it is called). They are also more polished in general.
  • A night and day system has been implemented, so now night doesn't only happend in SF94-City but everywhere. The weather will also randomly change. You can control the time and weather systems using numberous commands and console variables which can be found here. Consider the timehelp command if you need a list of all variables and commands available.
  • The coop item respawn feature should be fixed now.
  • The Weegee Apocalypse will now end after exactly two minutes. I'll probably work on this later, so take this as a temporary change.
  • Some very minor changes in Neon Night, nothing really interesting though.
  • The picture when you open srb2 now indicates "2.1.X" rather than "2.0.X".
  • Many other details that I can't remember right now, mainly bugfixes. Don't read the next line.
  • You are an idiot if you read this line.

Man, the new time system is so great, i can now stare at the red armageddon sky in Green City as well as SF94-City!
uCUkvV6.png

Don't question the "Fog"(Which is more like darkness) being exaggerated, i did that myself. On a side note, i will kinda miss how the lighting during sunset/night was tinted in SF94-City(Orange/Dark Blue)
Also, Weegeepocalypse lasting 2 minutes? Personally, i find it too long, it should probably end after 20-30 seconds, or, even better for server hosts/people who actually listen to SRB2 music, never happen at all.
That last bit of the last sentence was a bit blunt, i know, but the Weegeepocalypse "joke" has already had it's time, i'm sure that almost no one would miss it.
Also, NPC Astley no longer seems to play RickRoll. Yay! ...But the lighting under the light in the Neon Night train station is still broken in OpenGL.
EDIT: Played around a bit more, and remembered that the 1st through 6th emeralds are miscolored for whatever reason, also, if you're willing to retexture Neon Night a bit more, you could make the Trucks in the garage, and the one at the "Construction Site" have different colors.

So good ,the RPC COLOUR isn't good , but i like it.
And i do not like the NCZ Textures, but it's verry good.
GOOD JOB

Ho ok =)
Maybe NPCs may have more colors in the future, although it's not my priority.
Ah and it's not Neon City but Neon Night City, so NN or NNC (forget the "zone" it is no more used).
