16 Years since that chaotic monstrosity, eh? It's been a long time.

For those who doesn't know, today is the 16th Anniversary of the unforgettable terrorist attack that involved Airplanes and the World Trade Center. It was terrible. The best part is, there's a memorial, which is intended to pay homage to the attack. It has a Museum and a Water Fountain indicating the victims of the attack. It even has the Names and Photos from the victims.

Also, there's been a Movie about this attack, which was released in the U.S 3 Days ago. It's just like the Titanic Movie, since it talks about an unforgettable incident.

For more info, check the Wikipedia Links.

As always, never forget.

By the way, Happy 2 Year Anniversary, Super Mario Maker! (This was added just for fun, okay?)

I never understood the "Never Forget" sentiment. Anyone who lost any loved ones in that tragedy will of course never forget. For everyone else, what good does remembering it do? Are we supposed to reignite the old feelings of rage and despair over this terrible thing that is getting older and older? I know it's good to remember history or risk repeating it, but the words "Never Forget" make it feel more, I dunno, threatening and pessimistic.

Yeah, there's a weird... pitchfork-wielding vibe about the phrase that always rubbed me the wrong way. Feels especially off now that we're apparently repeating the slogan sixteen years in.

Since "Never Forget" IS the slogan of the homages, i just decided to put it in.

Honestly, it always reminded me of the "date which will live in infamy" thing. Yes, if you were alive for it at an age old enough to understand, of course you're going to remember. That's how human memory works.

Honestly, we really don't need this kind of thread here. It's an important event for world history, but the political ramifications aren't a good topic of discussion for a Sonic fangame's forum.
