    The CyberDime Realm (Virtual Simplicity)

I'll probably get to writing my full thoughts about this again after these updates some other time, but the short of it? Way, way better than it was on release. I find this pack to be really fun to play now. It tends to be my default for playing modded characters, especially Modern Sonic. This...

    Modern Sonic V5.12

A bit of an annoying bug: boosting (and potentially other abilities, but I haven't tested those) does not get reset when you restart a level. This is particularly annoying in record attack, sometimes you'll just start the level immediately boosting.

    Starshy Stages [v1.1]

For some reason, I keep having my game hang after beating stages. The music will just get stuck repeating a certain part and then Windows will tell me SRB2 isn't responding. It happened twice in Plasma Peak 2 and once Cosmic Climb. I'm not sure what's happening.

    InferNO's level preview

That dark room reminds me of the Erazor Djinn boss fight in Secret Rings. You've got some strong atmosphere going on and I really want to see where this is going!

    MixedHUD

Nah, Modern Sonic's HUD is hardcoded. No way to replace it unless Spork rewrote it to allow that. And this is just a simple graphics replacement for the default HUD anyway.

    Crystal Sonic

I like how this is coming together. Using the spindash as a drift to keep dash mode is really interesting, even if I feel like the default SRB2 levels are a bit confined for it. I don't really like how you can move with it though, it feels unnatural especially compared to just walking normally...

[Open Assets] Finally, Anime in SRB2

I'm not sure whether to be happy to have this or very, very depressed by the fact that I'll never hear the end of it on the Discord server.

    Something about the tutorial

Why are we so adamant about severely overanalyzing every minute aspect of this game? The tutorial was designed with the expectation that a new player would slowly follow along with what it's telling them to do at a given moment. If the player decides not to do that and just runs and makes that...

    Modern Sonic V5.12

Don't extract it. The mod is a pk3 file. You're just supposed to open it in the game as it is when you install it. If it's asking you to replace files, you're definitely doing something wrong.

[Open Assets] Flare the Lizard v1.9 - Simplified

No one hates shield abilities. It's just difficult to create a cohesive moveset in a two button game, especially when shields are taking up that button in midair. It would be preferable to avoid having to use custom buttons if at all possible since a lot of people can't comfortably fit them into...

How SRB2 approaches 2 Button gameplay

That was probably programmed based on the player object's angle and not updated for Simple controls, which separates the camera's angle from that. You might be able to do it with lock-on toggled since that keeps the player facing in one direction.

    Sonic's Ability Discussion

Dearie me. Let me try again in the hopes that if I specifically refute each point you make, you will understand. The homing attack does not make Sonic more accessible. I have played with it enough to say this with confidence. It doesn't solve the problem where Sonic struggles with platforming...

    Sonic's Ability Discussion

How about instead of now all coming out of the woodwork to beg for thread locks we just actively stop talking about the bad options and going in circles over them? If it locks, there goes all discussion on the matter and then either A) nothing changes and the root problem of new player...

    Sonic's Ability Discussion

I'll just address abilities again. I don't have much of an opinion on the level design in regards to current Sonic since I can't really see where the thok is considered in any of these levels. I think the double jump would work out okay for him, its most effective uses are pretty obvious...

    Sonic's Ability Discussion

Might as well weigh in and strike while the iron's hot. 1. After taking time to consider what's being said in this thread and think about how I actually play this game casually, I've changed my mind on the thok. I don't think Sonic having some kind of air dash is bad, it's been one of his...

    [Open Assets] Sonic & Knuckles+

I figured there'd be a deliberate reason to do that, good to know. If anything though, that rule does work out better in a few custom levels that also happen to have lots of enemies. I don't imagine that holding up as time goes on though. Happy to give feedback though! This is quickly becoming...

    [Open Assets] Sonic & Knuckles+

Another weird thing, turns out the power ups HUD appears for every character and not just Sonic and Knuckles. The enable/disable shield abilities button also does. I like the homing target, it's pretty helpful. Though I'd like it if it didn't show up while you were currently Knuckles since you...

    [Open Assets] Sonic & Knuckles+

I'm really enjoying playing with this! I like the tag team mechanic a lot, feels like what Sonic Advance 3 should have been, and the power ups actually give some incentive to go after enemies. I'm looking forward to the eventual ports of the stages from your old project since I wanna see levels...

    Suggestions

I'm liking having a simple sound effect for 1ups instead of the whole jingle since I got sick of it ages ago and it's interrupting better music, but for clarity could it be a different sound from the cash register noise? Or could we have the option replace it without triggering the modified flag...

[Open Assets] Yet Another HUD Mod

The specific graphics this addon replaces are whitelisted. If you type "listwad" into the console after adding this, it'll be greyed out to signify that it's not considered modifying the game (significantly, anyway) or a required file in servers. The reason your addon does that is because life...
