Since you claim to have everything done, I think you should check also that there aren't any firewall blocking your connection.
Also, to my knowledge the TCP protocol isn't required in this game so I wouldn't worry about that yet. If you have a Dynamic IP Address (like me sadly) should verify...
I agree, I think the original SRB2 tracks are limited and way more repetitive. I really don't like for example the Invincibility track... it's too boring, it isn't catchy at all and it's nothing like the main game theme (unlike Classic Sonic games or at least the majority). I'd like Blue Warrior...
The Robo-Hood thing is really frustrating as you can't know when he's going to attack at all (even if you said it's half-hearted fixed I still don't get it). Also I still find it odd, but I can die in CEZ but not in ACZ, therefore I find ironic how the difficulty is supposed to get harder going...
As far I understand news are posted on the SRB2.org and then automatically (I guess) are posted here at the same time if that is what you're wondering.
I'd like to know if SRB2 Workbench is ready for release too. I've read also that it's the only map editor that supports the new custom texture system in 2.1 which I'm really looking forward to.
No, I've read that only a Sonic & Tails option was added which to be honest I'm excited to see how that works. Also I've seen an image somewhere here that had a Knuckles & Tails option too! Yet I don't remember if was it true or not =P
Yep, he's poorly designed found in Mechanical Madness Zone Act 2 ascending with no sense I think, but I really didn't know that's supposed to be the real Metal Sonic we all know from Sonic CD. Honestly I thought it was like another version or something like that judging by his Sprites...
You probably could fix it by going to Options > Video options > OpenGL options > Low-end hardware mode: On. It would turn off the water effect and the blur motion in order to get better FPS.
And just like you SRB2CB runs smoothly in my PC unlike Vanilla SRB2, even Cineblast runs faster in OpenGL...
Actually, it was the first time we all saw 2.1 content in SRB2.org (yeah that long ago) Earlier than this, a tiny version was posted here on the forums.

What would be the purpose about that? If I would wanted the Corona lighting effect I'd have liked if it worked correctly and also even if I remember correctly isn't OpenGL becoming less functional or unsupported still in 2.1? I also liked it but I got used to Software already anyway.
Wow I wish all SRB2 tracks were like that! Well, not necessarily but I think some tracks could be better. In my opinion the original is kind of slow and it isn't looped for some reason.
