    Version 2.1 Release

OK, I guess it's time for me to admit defeat, we're going to be well past 2.1.7 now. I'm glad to see so many OpenGL related bugs being fixed still. Hopefully the netcode works better in this iteration, there seemed to be a bit of a regression in the last few that prevented me from even connecting.

    Version 2.1 Release

I don't know, but as I said earlier, I think that 2.1.7 will be the last of these rolling releases and I would be surprised if it went past this.

    Version 2.1 Release

I concur, as of version 2.1.4 there's definitely a re-sync issue. Trying with multiple machines, this issue pursued regardless of ping or operating system.

    Version 2.1 Release

As much as I like the rolling releases, I would be surprised if this continued any longer than 2.1.7. I think it would be best to combine the original 2.1 release with the final "patch" version in the download section once this becomes stable. Also I noticed in the Aerial Gardens map near the...

    Version 2.1 Release

I think it would have been funnier if the release got delayed yet again for (publicly) an undetermined amount of time and then made a surprise release on April 1st when no one was really expecting it. I'm glad it finally got released as it seems to fix several annoy bugs/shortcomings that were...

    Inazuma the Hedgehog [Updated: 10/5/13]

This character is definitely different from the usually, I just though I would mention in addition to the flashing white screen bug there is also another that can be caused by spin dashing into low bodies of water of near the same height such the one in act 2 in the image below. Basically, this...

    mt_redwall

Initially I thought this map might reference the Redwall novel series (Brian Jacques) somehow, though after seeing it now it's obvious that it was only named this due to the excessive use of the SRB2 REDWALL texture. At least to a hedgehog this level would look like any other 1.0.9 era level...

    Floral Cove Zone 1

I meant don't give a tag to a sector touching the thok barrier, or stuff beyond it won't be rendered. Specifically, don't put a water block or FOF directly on the thok barrier that doesn't go all the way up to the ceiling. (https://wiki.srb2.org/wiki/Linedef_type_121). Also, you might want...

    [Open Assets] Srb2 SkyWars V1.0 (Match/CTF)

Intriguing, now there are multiplayer maps that feature the combined abilities of Sonic's speed, with the flying ability of Tails, and the gliding ability of Knuckles. Now Knuckles isn't the only one that can camp in the clouds and drop grenades all while being out of reach by the others.

    Floral Cove Zone 1

Not bad, some minor things (all easy to fix) still need tweaked. Other than occasional platforms being somewhat disproportional to character jumping ability, and some bugs with the water (due to placement), it's looking quite well. It will be interesting to see how this changes in the future.

Amateur Stage Design Trials - A New Mapping Contest!

The glitches are present in all rendering modes, they just cause other anomalies instead, but OpenGL rendering helps show exactly where the errors are. As for most of the maps being too dark, this is consistent with the other rendering modes as well. These errors should have been caught by...

Amateur Stage Design Trials - A New Mapping Contest!

Overall, I surmise the results of this contest to surpass the preliminary amateur expectations of this contest. Although each submission each had their own shortcomings, they each excelled in a unique way. Due to the lack of diversity among the entries (due to the nature of this contest)...

    MD2 folder disappeared

If these were originals, then the idiosyncrasies of journaling file systems (such as NTFS) should provide for a relatively easy method of recovering data for someone familiar with either the software called "System Mechanics Search and Recovery" or a Unix based operating system such as Linux...

    Version 2.0.7 Release

This may not be a 2.1 release, but it's the next greatest thing. I was blaming WINE hitherto for SRB2 not generating screen captures accurately, but it appears that this was veritably caused by the diminished framerate in SRB2 itself as a consequence of executing non-native binaries. I'm glad...

    SRB2Linux: C-Fail shortly after joining a server (64-bit)

If I remember correctly, than this is a long running bug that occurs when a Linux version of the game attempts to connect to a host using a Windows version. Hopefully this will get fixed in the next release and as for WINE, version 1.5 and prior are currently in better standing than 1.6. Also...

SRB2DB through WINE, but native SRB2 testplay [Linux]

I was referring to disabling the option under the "edit" tab of Doom Builder" as shown in top left window that says "Precache resources when loading map". The parameters shown in the screeshot (-opengl -iwad %D -file "%A" "%F" +map %L) should work and are the ones I meant you should try first...

SRB2DB through WINE, but native SRB2 testplay [Linux]

Due to overlooking the licenses of WINE and Doom Builder aforetime, apparently I'll be unable to share the contents of my ".wine" folder. I'll however nevertheless mention how I do this beforehand, as well as try to provide a short walkthorugh of how I typically did it in the past. It'll be...

SRB2DB through WINE, but native SRB2 testplay [Linux]

Since Doom Builder isn't accustomed to hidden directories in Linux, than that would work as a workaround provided you have the extra storage space. Another possibility might be to use "/usr/games/SRB2/" as your game directory since if I recall correctly, in the source code, it mentions looking...

SRB2DB through WINE, but native SRB2 testplay [Linux]

I recommend trying SRB2 alone with your version of WINE first, if I'm correct, than anything beyond map01 shall fail (assuming SRB2 doesn't fail its checksum test upon execution). When I get a chance (hopefully sometime tomorrow), I'll link a copy of my WINE/Doom Builder setup here as WINE can...

SRB2DB through WINE, but native SRB2 testplay [Linux]

It's highly unlikely that Doom Builder could ever run/emulate any non native (elf) binary without first heavily modifying its source code. In its current state, Doom Builder would be excruciating difficult to port to non Windows platforms. The only (realistic) method of accomplishing the task...
