I imagine it's banned so users with 2.0.X don't try and join outdated servers. Obviously if players want to use outdated versions together, they will have to use ip-connect.

What zip program are you running? If you are using the default windows you should try using WinRar to extract these files. Otherwise it's probably a connection issue while you are downloading the zips.

Just think of it as a good thing. At least you know the wads you can get from the addon system won't break your game or give you sore eyes.

Unless your master server is broken I have yet to see just one connection host a server using your ms. You don't make it clear what the ip is which makes it even more confusing then it already was to change from the standared MS to yours.

Where did you get your CD from? I ordered my copy of Orange Box of Amazon and after I activated the product it gave me a prompt to install the game off the cd which saved me time from downloading the whole damm game.
