a curious thought crossed my mind while i was going through this the evening it came out but, but is there any particular reason as to why fort nitrate was completely gutted and replaced in the port? was really surprising to see something entirely new in it's place

Made some small changes to the first half of act 1 for Nightlight Gully.
Made a relatively small amount of changes in a couple of levels & toned the enemy count down in a few others by a small amount.

if i had to choose between any of the levels in the vanilla game that i don't enjoy i'd probably have to go with castle eggman act 1, which is kinda weird because i remember being really hyped about it when it was first announced to be getting a remake

How are you supposed to be able to get the 8 minute time emblem? I've done several runs now and i always find myself a minute or 2 short depending if the emerald hunt RNG wants to be nice to me

i've been aware of this problem for a while now, it's because of of a bug regarding the pointy badnik if you are playing on mac or linux pc's.
i just haven't much time or interest to be working on this, but i will put an update out eventually to fix this
