I honestly think Sandwichface should have been banned much earlier than he was. He had already made it abundantly clear years ago that he didn't intend to contribute to the community in any positive or amicable way, and giving him second and third chances only gave him more opportunities to...
Ring Racers doesn't have achievements either? It has unlockables, which SRB2 already has...
Unlockables are just achievements with a tangible reward, anyways. I don't see any reason for SRB2 to have achievements when it already has emblems and unlockable content
I have to be honest, the more I played Ring Racers the less I liked it. I really wanted to like it, but I can't shake this feeling of disappointment. I'll list off my thoughts and feelings in no particular order.
To start off, item play is ridiculous. There are about 3 items that are worth...
I personally think the discourse on whether it counts as "art" is meaningless. Art has always been entirely subjective; it means very different things to different people. I would personally say it counts as art, but my opinion does not invalidate anyone else's.
There are a lot of legitimate...
It's probably worth noting that STJr can choose whether or not to do anything about GPL violations, the same way Sega can choose whether or not to do anything about STJr violating their copyright. It's been 25 or so years and they haven't come after anyone for GPL violations, so I think we're...
This is an unexpected change, but the reasoning behind it makes sense. One question I have is, are authors still allowed to stop people from making ports of their mods upon request? For instance, what if the author wants to leave one of their creations in the past?
I'd like to come back to this popular discussion after taking some time to reflect on SRB2 as a whole.
I've realised that the reason my progress on mods has stagnated is because I have become bored of this game, and I have become bored of this game because it is stale. SRB2 is, in my opinion, a...
BIG agree on the Hammer Drop's input. I usually prefer when character mods keep all ability inputs on as few buttons as possible but I would be fine with the Hammer Drop being moved to spin.
In terms of singleplayer, Seraphic Skylands and Abandoned Airbase are some of my favourites. I don't have a favourite map from the vanilla line-up.
Some of my favourite circuit maps are Speedy Ruins and Mystic Marsh.
For me it depends heavily on the quality of both the models and the sprites. This is entirely my personal opinion, but I don't really like how the models that come packaged with the game look. The texturing is often too simplistic and un-detailed for my liking, and when it isn't it's just...
I've always been a fan of Pointy's momentum flip. It's relatively easy to understand and can be very powerful in the hands of someone who understands it well. I think it could make a decent replacement for the thok.
I also enjoy Inferno's air drill, but I don't think it would be significantly...

Somehow I didn't see this until I was about to post the update. Whoops. These all look like they could make pretty nice colours, I'll take a crack at them next update.
I'm not 100% confident addon unloading and OpenGL palette rendering will be ready in time for 2.2.14 but I'm glad developers and community members are contributing those features regardless. The new sprites that will (probably) be arriving in 2.2.14 are also a welcome change.
It's a relatively...
Definitely. I was actually thinking of doing the poly flag myself not too long ago. I wasn't sure which design to use so I figured I could do both the one with the pi symbol and the new one.
I see where you're coming from, but I think this depends on the context. If the hyperbole is overdone to the point that it makes the criticism unclear then it can be unhelpful. Also, some people are better at seeing through hyperbole than others. Someone who has trouble recognising hyperbole...
