And just waiting often does not work. What works apparently is changing room (had no idea) and, from my experience, going back to the main MP menu then reopening the list....

Playername max length is different between console/player setup menu

As the title says, by using the console command "name" you can get a higher limit for your player name (1 more character) than what is possible by using the player setup menu.
