Srb2 is eighteen years old?!

Yep, if my dates are correct then it in fact is; what do you fellas think about this?

Sapheros 11-25-2016 06:27 PM

Wait in 2 more years, it'll be worth the celebration.

MK.exe 11-25-2016 06:42 PM

2 more years and i'll be 20 :(

The Extreme Gamer 11-25-2016 07:08 PM

I remember when Techno Hill chemicals hurt the player. XD

It's surprising that this game is still updating.

The Extreme Gamer 11-25-2016 07:18 PM

It like what they say about Linux, "The Power of the Community".

TrailBlazer 11-25-2016 07:53 PM

What are these "dates" exactly?

Prisima the Fox 11-25-2016 08:01 PM

He's taking into account the SRB2 TGF, even though it was unreleased. It was developed March-July 1998. If you only count the next released version (SRB2 Halloween), SRB2 is 17 years old, or approx. 204 months.

Kennysuavo 11-25-2016 08:20 PM

I always thought it was cool how this game was made the same year I was born

Whackjood 11-26-2016 02:34 AM

I can't believe SRB2 is older than the average community member.

Unknownlight 11-26-2016 02:59 AM

I can't believe this Doom engine game from the 90's still attracts teenagers despite all of their other options.

It might be because of the Under Dog effect or teenegers are being just straight up hipsters.

If I'm any indication, it's mostly just because they're Sonic fans, SRB2 is a free and decently made 3D Sonic game, and they can mod it without learning 3D modeling or even much code, depending on what they're making.

I yeah I forgot bout this big point (somehow) and heck this might the reason how I got here. (silly me)

I started playing SRB2 when I was 10 years old. I'm 20 now. Crazy how time flies. I still remember looking all over the internet for a leaked 2.0 beta back in the day.

Ice 11-27-2016 11:30 PM

It's the ease of editing. That's why I'm back! Because level editing is so (relatively) simple, it's easy for new and old players to get a game design idea and actually express it in SRB2, even the idea is not exactly Sonic-based.
